HiredTap Refund & Cancellation Policy

Welcome to HiredTap, an on-demand jobs and services marketplace owned and operated by XTEALTH Private Limited. HiredTap is a registered trademark of XTEALTH Private Limited.

HiredTap operates as a technology marketplace platform connecting Customers with independent Service Providers. Service Providers may onboard and use the platform either on a commission basis or through subscription plans purchased by the Service Providers.

For selected services, payments are facilitated and processed through authorized third-party payment processors and payment gateways integrated with the HiredTap platform.

This Refund & Cancellation Policy is prepared in accordance with applicable Indian laws, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and related regulations.

By accessing or using HiredTap, you agree to this Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please refrain from using the platform and services.

1. Definitions

1.1 Service Provider

A professional, freelancer, company, agency, or individual offering services through the HiredTap platform.

1.2 Customer

A user who books or requests services through HiredTap.

1.3 Service Booking

A confirmed order placed by a Customer for a service listed on HiredTap.

1.4 Service Commencement

The point at which the Service Provider has started work, reached the customer location, accepted the booking for execution, or begun delivering the requested service.

1.5 Subscription Plan

Any paid membership, lead package, promotional plan, or subscription purchased by a Service Provider for access to platform features, visibility, or business opportunities.

2. Scope of the Policy

This policy applies to:

  • All service bookings made through HiredTap;
  • Subscription plans purchased by Service Providers;
  • Payments processed through the HiredTap platform;
  • Services accessed through the HiredTap website or mobile applications.

3. Platform & Payment Policy

3.1 Marketplace Role

HiredTap acts primarily as a marketplace and technology platform connecting Customers with independent Service Providers.

HiredTap does not directly provide services unless specifically mentioned.

3.2 Business Model

Service Providers may access and use HiredTap:

  • On a commission basis, where HiredTap charges a commission fee on completed transactions; or
  • Through subscription plans purchased by the Service Providers for access to platform features, leads, visibility, or promotional services.

3.3 Payment Processing

For selected services, payments are facilitated and processed through authorized third-party payment processors and payment gateways.

Customers are advised to make payments only through the official HiredTap payment system wherever applicable.

HiredTap does not store sensitive banking or card details except through secure and legally compliant payment infrastructure.

4. Cancellation Policy

4.1 Cancellation by Customer

Before Service Commencement

Customers may cancel a booking before the service has commenced.

However, cancellation fees, convenience charges, or penalties may apply if the cancellation occurs:

  • After confirmation by the Service Provider; or
  • Within the limited cancellation period mentioned at the time of booking.

Applicable charges may depend on:

  • Time remaining before the scheduled service;
  • Nature and category of the service;
  • Preparation, procurement, or travel already undertaken by the Service Provider.

After Service Commencement

Once the service has commenced, cancellation is strictly not permitted.

No refund shall be issued after:

  • The Service Provider has started the service;
  • The Service Provider has reached the customer location;
  • Work execution has begun; or
  • The booking has been accepted for processing.

4.2 Cancellation by Service Provider

If a Service Provider cancels a confirmed booking:

  • The Customer will receive a cancellation notification;
  • HiredTap may attempt to assign an alternate Service Provider where feasible;
  • Eligible refunds, if applicable, shall be processed to the Customer.

4.3 Cancellation by HiredTap

HiredTap reserves the right to cancel bookings in situations including but not limited to:

  • Suspected fraud or unauthorized activity;
  • Violation of platform policies;
  • Technical or operational failures;
  • Unavailability of Service Providers;
  • Safety, legal, or compliance concerns.

Eligible refunds may be processed where applicable.

5. Refund Policy

5.1 Eligible Refund Scenarios

Refunds will be initiated only under the following circumstances:

A. Service Not Delivered

  • The Service Provider fails to appear or does not deliver the booked service;
  • The booking is canceled by the Service Provider; or
  • The booking is canceled by HiredTap due to operational or policy reasons.

B. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments

  • A Customer is charged multiple times for the same transaction; or
  • An incorrect amount is deducted due to a payment processing error.

C. Service Provider Cancellation

  • The Service Provider cancels the booking after payment has been completed; and
  • No suitable replacement Service Provider is available.

D. Customer Cancellation

  • The Customer cancels the booking within the permitted cancellation and refund window specified at the time of booking.

E. Technical Issues

  • Payment is successfully completed but the booking is not confirmed;
  • System, server, or technical errors result in failed or incomplete transactions.

F. Fraudulent or Unauthorized Transactions

  • Suspected fraudulent activity;
  • Payments made without Customer authorization; or
  • Transactions violating HiredTap marketplace policies or applicable law.

G. Service Unavailability

  • The requested service is unavailable in the Customer’s location; or
  • The service cannot be provided at the selected date or time.

5.2 Non-Refundable Situations

  • Cancellation after service commencement;
  • Customer dissatisfaction without reasonable evidence;
  • Delay caused due to customer unavailability;
  • Cancellation outside the permitted cancellation window;
  • Services already completed or partially completed;
  • Misuse of promotional offers, credits, or referral benefits;
  • Incorrect booking details provided by the Customer.

5.3 Refund Request Process

Customers or Service Providers must raise a refund request within 24 hours of the issue through the HiredTap platform or by contacting customer support.

Refund requests should include:

  • Booking ID or transaction details;
  • Description of the issue;
  • Supporting screenshots or evidence where applicable.

5.4 Refund Review & Processing Timeline

  • Refund requests will be reviewed and validated by HiredTap;
  • Additional information may be requested during investigation;
  • Approved refunds will generally be processed within 7–10 business days;
  • Refunds will be credited to the original payment method used during the transaction.

Actual credit timelines may vary depending on the payment gateway, bank, or financial institution.
